The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now Community Of Christ, would rent space at this site each year for a week-long family camp. That annual tradition continued until 1953, when the church purchased the property, and began to make the camp more useful and available to the community.
By 1980, two dormitories were completed as part of a planned central cluster of buildings. Following a study of camp needs and resources, an auditorium/assembly building was completed in 1989. A heated Children/Youth Centre was built in 1999, along with an upgraded water system for future winter operations.
Further upgrades will extend the usefulness of the site to community, church and families in the Southern Ontario and Michigan areas.
